For our Contingent Workforce team within Indirect Procurement we are now looking for an experienced and ambitious Category lead – Temporary labor & flex agencies.

  In today’s challenging and tight market conditions, Vattenfall’s ability to attract talent not only permanent but also contingent for the right costs is more crucial than ever. Procurement is one of the fundamental levers to maximize value we get from our capital and operational expenditures. Although big steps have been accomplished over the last years, we will have to take additional steps in our procurement journey to be able to deliver on increasingly demanding and our challenging environment.

As Category Lead Temporary labor you will support the demand in this category for the whole Vattenfall Group across our regions. You will work in an outstanding commercial and international environment and have a significant impact on Vattenfall realising its transition to a more sustainable energy portfolio by securing and managing our temporary labor category at best value for the company.

What will you do?

In this role you will be the procurement lead for this area and interface towards all Vattenfall’s Business Areas and Staff Functions and run the category planning and business dialogue processes with them. One of your main stakeholders will be our HR - Resource Management Centre (RMC). This central organized unit is handle all our Time-Material consultants across our regions on a day to day basis, supported by our external MSP’s, brokers and other third parties.

Main responsibilities: 

  • Define a Temporary labor & flex agencies strategy with a short, medium and long-term view. The category encompasses a spend of approximately Euro 200 Mio;

  • Develop the supplier strategy e.g. relationship development, performance  management;

  • Providing insights regarding the service and category;

  • Provide relevant market expertise (commercial and procurement) for a range of procurement activities within the business;

  • Pro-actively build relationships on all levels and sell the value of procurement and our processes;

  • Manage the creation and delivery of cost saving initiatives and tooling within the category;

  • Ensure the supplier selection, procurement and contract management process is aligned with the category strategy adequately protecting the company from regulatory, reputational and financial risks;

  • Responsible for annual category spend.


We work 51% at the office, 49% hybrid. Our team is located in Stockholm, Amsterdam and Berlin. Mirroring the activities of the key stakeholders, the successful candidate for this role will be based in Sweden.  

Your profile

Who are you?

We believe that you suit perfectly to this role if you are passionate about the energy transition and want to make a difference with your excellent procurement expertise. Besides that you bring:

  • A relevant University degree (or equal) and minimum of 10 years’ Sourcing experience in the Contingent Workforce- or related categories.

  • Solid expertise in temporary labor area and demonstrable experience across the procurement skillset and experience of the procurement processes.

  • Experience in managing Sourcing categories of significant spend. Experience in managing categories across regions and cultures.

  • Strategic supplier management experience.

  • Good understanding of people and culture in working across multiple business functions and locations.

  • Ability to simplify complexity and to identify “the 20% of the scope that drives 80% of the results”.

  • Co-operative team player with solid interpersonal skills.

  • Strong consultancy skills and able to support, advise, guide and challenge across all aspects of Procurement.

  • Experience in solving with strategic issues / problems and strategy development.

  • Strong initiative with a high sense of responsibility and willingness to perform.

  • Strong negotiator

  • Ability to travel

  • Your command of English is fluent , both verbally and written
