Could you be the

Railway Signalling Authorisation Manager Trackside

 in Stockholm we’re looking for?

Take on a new challenge and apply your Railway Signalling Trackside Authorisation expertise in a new cutting-edge field.

Alstom are currently delivering the signalling system for more than 30 trackside projects yearly to the Swedish market. In some of these our clients want us to deliver a larger scope and also manage the authorisation of the installation, which in Sweden contains three parts, TSS (Traffic Safety Signalling), GOP (Authorisation Process) and CSM-RA (Common Safety Methods on Risk Evaluation and Assessment).

Alstom see an opportunity to grow this part of our portfolio and we also see a large market for doing this as part of the Swedish trackside signalling is reaching its estimated technical life.

We will look to you:

As experienced person to run and grow this part of our delivery. Your tasks on short term will be:

  • Identify existing projects where we have sold the authorisation management, analyse the activities in these projects and, if they are managed through subcontractors today, see if we can move the execution to Alstom.

  • Identify upcoming projects where we can get the responsibility for the authorisation management, support our tender activities and contribute to more contracts like this won

  • Build the processes, templates and structures needed to support our work with the authorisation management

  • Start the work to optimise the TSS, GOP and CSM-RA processes together with Trafikverket

  • When there is some maturity, start moving some of the operative tasks to more junior resources

On longer term:

  • Consolidate our trackside authorisation management activities

  • Continue the work with process optimisation with Trafikverket

  • Identify and develop further, related, business opportunities in our projects

  • If you are interested, start working with other parts of our C&A activites, such as NoBo Trackside, NoBo and DeBo onboard, extend the geographical scope to Norway and Denmark

Working with Alstom will give you a unique possibility to gain in-depth knowledge of the technical aspect of our business. This is a company where you can make a career and development opportunities are part of our company culture.

All about you:

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Languages: English and Swedish are necessary.

  • Education: Master of Engineering or similar experience.

  • Work experience: At least 5 years, preferably more, of experience from working with TSS and GOP for Swedish signalling projects.

  • Interested in mentoring junior employees

  • Skills:

    • Good report writer

    • Good at reading complex texts

    • Interest in understanding the complete picture

    • Capable of identifying the relevant details and disregarding the other details

    • Good and flexible communication skills to be used both internally and externally

    • Development and management of processes

    • Development of business opportunities

  • Be responsible for writing Certification & Authorisation plans and evidence documentation toward assessors.

  • Be the interface in Certification and Authorisation matters towards the Engineering part of Alstom, the client, and the authorities in Sweden and the EU.

  • Unless you already have experience of this kind of work you will initially be under close supervision which will lessen as the experience of the employee grows. In the beginning, a significant amount of reading will be needed, and later keeping up to date with both the law texts and the internal tools is part of the work.

Things you’ll enjoy:

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.

  • Work with newest train control systems

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.

  • Contribute to innovative projects.

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
