Are you ready to join an international sourcing team, ensuring the right electromechanical solutions for innovative audio and video products?

Join us at GN – we bring people closer

At GN we design and manufacture world-leading intelligent audio, video, and gaming communication solutions. We have consumer, professional and medical-grade products, and expertise, all under one roof.

Inspired by people and driven by our passion for innovation, we leverage technologies to deliver unique user experiences that bring people closer through the power of sound.

Welcome to Global Operations at GN - making great designs for intelligent audio and video solutions possible

You will join the Global Sourcing team within Global Operations. Here you will support our R&D and Product Design teams building winning audio solutions to make the development process for brand new products affordable – from concept to product delivery.

You will join an international team based in Denmark, China, US and Taiwan, where you will collaborate with suppliers across the globe. This will challenge your ability to collaborate across time zones – and navigate between different cultures.

The Global Sourcing team is on an exciting journey to deliver sourcing excellence and is currently transforming from having a component focus to a more strategic supplier focus. Through clear emphasis on being more flexible, efficient and data driven, whilst applying a continuous improvement mindset, the team is looking to strengthen the simplicity in the way they operate their supplier base.

A key objective is to reduce the total number of suppliers from around 200 to 100 by working with a transparent and strategic mindset with the right portfolio of long-term suppliers. The purpose is to ensure that our suppliers add more value, by assisting with future innovations and manufacturing technologies.

What will you be doing?

Your mission will be to deliver a strong supply base that contributes to our business with best-in-class performance. With that, we expect that you will challenge, provide ideas, and take active part in developing our sourcing processes.

Functioning as the link between R&D, Product Design, and our supplier teams, you will challenge electromechanical designers in product development on their choice of designs, ensuring cost effective manufacturing processes and achieving ambitious product cost targets.

You will ensure the right portfolio of long-term suppliers within the Electromechanical team and will confidently negotiate and manage all procurement contracts for typically 20-25 suppliers. Based on a strong understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO), and how key parameters such as time to market should be taken into consideration when assessing TCO, you will drive the relationship with your suppliers. An important responsibility in your role is to make sure the suppliers are motivated in their business relationship with GN. You will ensure this by building strong personal relationships and selling-in the company’s mission and values to them.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop supply base strategic direction and drive its implementation

  • Drive the negotiation and contract management process

  • Manage supplier cost roadmaps to meet increasing product performance challenges

  • Collaborate with R&D and supplier teams to deliver cost optimized solutions

  • Develop total cost and capacity optimized inbound supply chain for trusted and flexible supply

  • Perform risk mitigation and contingency planning

Sound good so far? Here’s what you’ll need to succeed and create results

  • A commercial degree or a degree in electrical engineering

  • Experience from sourcing transducers, batteries or PCBs in consumer electronics is preferred

  • You like nothing better than finding out what makes a product cost the way it does

  • The flexibility to travel 30-40 days a year

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and enjoy collaborating with colleagues and partners from different cultures

  • Have hands-on negotiation experience and project management skills

Fluent written and spoken English skills

As an international organization with colleagues in over 50 different countries, our official company language is English. It is essential that you can communicate effortlessly with your colleagues, no matter where they are.
